About the specialisation

Film Directing Courses

Film directing courses at Prague Film Institute are designed for students who want to lead a film set with confidence. Directing is one of the most demanding specialisations, because a director needs to understand all key departments to lead a film. Our directing courses are built for that — you learn the foundations of every crew role while getting extra directing classes, on-set positions and the opportunity to direct your final films. This helps you build a strong, focused portfolio.

You’ll learn how to direct actors, work across a wide range of genres and practise different types of scenes. We teach all essential directing skills — visual storytelling, blocking, shot design, communication with the crew, leading a set — and develop your practical understanding of how directors collaborate with other departments.
