At Prague Film Institute, you’ll work with professional filmmaking equipment, including cameras such as Arri Alexa, Sony VENICE, and RED V-RAPTOR and premium lenses like Arri Ultraprime, Arri Masterprime, and Cooke. You don’t just learn filmmaking — you train with the same tools and workflows used in real productions, both at the school and in a professional rental environment. The equipment fee is already included in our tuition fee, ensuring you have access to top-quality tools without additional costs.
Below is an overview of the equipment and facilities available for your projects.

Filmmaking technology is constantly being improved and old technologies replaced. This is why we teach our students with current, professional cameras and technology.

Even the best cameras cannot create a perfect image without high-quality lenses. Our students learn how to make motivated choices about which focal length is best for their film’s desired image and mood.

Whether our students are shooting indoors, outdoors, in a studio, or in their home, we have lights for every location.

The quickest way to differentiate an amateur film from a professional film is by the quality of the sound recording. Using professional-quality microphones and audio mixers elevates our students’ films to the next level.

In addition to the equipment available for your film projects, you also have access to a fully equipped green screen and lighting studio on campus.
Additional production facilities are available at a discounted student rate through our partner, Three Brothers Production.
Part of your training also takes place in a professional rental facility, where you gain insight into real production workflows.

Transport can be one of the biggest challenges for student productions. To support your shoots, we offer a van free of charge, subject to availability.
Trailers are also available at a discounted student rate through our partner, Three Brothers Production.

Students are offered access to an AVID Media Composer license, which they can use on their own computer during their studies. Additional post-production software is also available on our cinema room workstations:

Students also have access to a growing library of reference books covering all major areas of filmmaking, from scriptwriting to editing, cinematography, and acting. To support film analysis and inspiration, we also provide access to selected streaming platforms and screening resources:

For more specialized equipment needs, students can access 60% discounted rental price at our partner Big Stories Studio Rental.
