summer filmmaking program

Our intensive 2 months summer filmmaking program is designed to give you a hands-on experience and overall introduction to the craft of filmmaking. The course is suitable for applicants with little or no experience, as well as for those who wish to deepen their skills. Covering screenwriting, directing, camera, editing and sound, the tutors of Prague Film Institute will lead you from story idea to finished film. Each student writes and directs his or her own short film while also being on the crew of others students’ projects.

During your training you will stay in Prague, the beautiful capital of the Czech Republic, as well as exploring the rest of the Czech republic by visiting a 5* resort in Olomouc Region and experiencing traditional Czech camping in cottages surrounded by woods and summer rafting activities. All these areas will be a great resource of film locations for your projects. The course is taught in English in small group between 5-15 people.
